Reducing Global Adjustment Charges With The Cell Driver™
In Ontario, the IESO’s Industrial Conservation Initiative (ICI) provides Class A Hydro consumers a unique opportunity to significantly reduce their Global Adjustment (GA) charges.
The Class A GA charges are set based on the sum of 5 coincidental peaks. During these peaks, automatically shifting to BESS stored power greatly reduces Global Adjustment fees, saving hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.
Class B users have their Global Adjustment calculated differently. In this case, the Cell Driver™ is used to both avoid Class B demand peaks and to create the once-monthly demand needed to transition to Class A. Once they become Class A, former Class B customers will see significantly lower Hydro bills through ICI peak avoidance.
